Horizontal Directional Drilling
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a trenchless technology used for installing underground utilities. A maneuverable drill is inserted into the ground and guided by an operator to the desired location. From there, the utility to be installed is fixed to the drill, and pulled back through the freshly bored hole. HDD is far less invasive than conventional "open-cut" installations; it is ideal for established population centers, high-traffic areas, and almost any terrain. Whether you're crossing roads, railways, sidewalks, or driveways; loose soil, compacted soil, or rock; under and over any terrain, directional drilling is a cost-effective solution for most underground utility construction.
